I am a
native of Macon, Georgia and a
graduate of Georgia College and State
University. I’ve had numerous short pieces published in magazine and
educational markets, as well as a picture book and a series of board books. I
also once won a rather hefty prize for writing a poem about mustard. I am currently living my
dream, writing middle grade novels with a magical twist, in a beach town where I
reside with my amazing husband, two brilliant sons, and a trio of well-rounded
cats.
My
favorite colors are navy blue, reddish-orange, and pale yellow. Since I have
always dreamed of having a job naming
paint colors, I’d rename these hues Midnight Dalmation, Soupiness, and
Sunshine Purr. Sound ridiculous? Go to your local hardware store and see what their paint colors are named.
My family and I enjoy traveling, hiking, and birding.
Some of our favorite spots are Aransas National Wildlife Refuge,
Padre Island National Seashore, South Padre Island Birding Center, and
Enchanted Rock. You will see photos from these places scattered
throughout this website.
